Traditional floral marquetry is created by cutting veneer packets into intricate patterns using only a scroll saw. In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll learn to use a power scroll saw (or practice if you’re new) and create a simple floral design. You’ll also learn sanding, shading, and assembly techniques to finish your marquetry picture. Then, you’ll tackle a more complex design. This method is great for furniture panels, art pieces, or patterned box lids like those from Sorrento, Italy. No experience is needed, but experienced students can choose a more challenging project. A materials fee is due at registration.
