Get some hands-on experience with flameworking as you learn how to work with a torch to melt and shape glass, add color, and sculpt it into a glass pumpkin.
Wear natural fabrics (cotton not polyester) and tie back long hair while working in the studio. Completed work will be ready within 2-3 weeks following the event. You will receive an email when your work is ready for pick up!

Discover the medium of charcoal in this workshop designed for homeschooled students ages 10-13. Join the journey by using a variety of types of paper and learn the fundamentals of drawing with charcoal as we experiment with this classic medium. By focusing on drawing creatures, critters, and fauna, we will bring our artistic creations to life!
Let us fuel your child’s imagination! Your creative kid will learn to work with clay, weave clay designs, and decorate a surface. We’ll handle the creative chaos – we keep the mess, you keep the masterpieces. Students must be able to follow instructions and ask questions in order to create safely and complete their project. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty!
Class will be held in the Ceramics Auxiliary Classroom 301, on the 3rd floor of GoggleWorks.
This workshop will teach the basics of drawing the human figure from a live model. Through several guided drawing exercises, instructor Lee Shannon will introduce methods for drawing a human quickly and accurately. Note: This class will involve working with a live nude model. Students must be 18+.
Shared art materials will be provided in the studio for most classes. Personal supplies can be purchased at our Art Supply Store, located on the first floor of GoggleWorks.
Make your own fused glass lollipop vase and brighten up your kitchen or coffee table. In this workshop, you’ll learn about the glass fusing process, including glass cutting and safety practices, as our instructor guides you through design options and assembly techniques. Closed-toe shoes required.
Using beginner level skills, learn how to handbuild coils and slabs of clay and transform them into a woven basket. You will learn how to use molds to help support your piece to create a unique basket for your table or kitchen. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Turnaround time for ceramics can be a few weeks. Once the pieces are ready for pick up, you’ll receive an email from our Programs team letting you know.

Create a blooming nice bowl, a charming round basket perfect for serving rolls, bread, or displaying seasonal treats. Woven on a double-slotted base and embellished with decorative flowers all around, this class combines practical basket-weaving techniques with beautiful floral accents for a truly eye-catching piece.
Have you worked in glassblowing before? Refine your glassblowing skills by developing personal goals while working independently, or with a partner, on a self-directed project. Your instructor will help you problem solve and confront the challenges of intermediate/advanced glass work. Please bring your own water bottle!

Learn about glassblowing as you create an original beverage glass. Once cooled, pick up your glass at Thorn Alley Kitchen at GoggleWorks where the second half of the workshop will conclude with a demonstration and beer tasting with our bartender 1pm Sunday, Oct. 18. Ages 21 and over only.

Explore the luminous beauty of plique-à-jour enameling, a technique often compared to miniature stained glass. Learn how to create translucent enamel panels suspended within a metal framework, allowing light to shine through the finished design. We’ll explore frame construction, enamel application, firing, and finishing techniques while creating a unique keychain. A materials fee is due at registration. Closed-toe shoes are required.
