Learn about the simplicity and complexity of itajime shibori, with its limitless possibilities for creativity and pattern. We will use procion dyes in cool colors and you will leave with a collection of samples as well as one finished piece suitable for wearing or gifting. We will discuss how the samples can be used as the basis for other projects, or these pieces can be used in the upcoming shibori workshop for further experimentation. No previous experience needed! Be dressed to work with materials that can stain.
Discover the experimental process of Lumen Printing, a silver gelatin based technique that uses sunlight to create one-of-a-kind, camera-less photographs. Place objects onto black & white photographic paper and watch as unique colors and compositions emerge, shaped by paper type, exposure, and organic materials. Get hands-on with alternative, unpredictable image-making!
Learn to shape glass in the flame as you create a functional and decorative bee watering funnel. In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll use flameworking techniques to shape borosilicate glass and create a funnel that helps provide water to pollinators. Wear closed-toe shoes, natural fabrics (like cotton), and tie back long hair in the studio.
Create functional kitchen items like salt and pepper shakers, butter dishes, and paper towel holders, all crafted by hand without the use of a wheel. Learn essential building and glazing techniques to bring your own unique style to everyday essentials. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
You will create and sew together your very own pennant banner to welcome in spring! You’ll learn how to compose small drawings with flowers and text, some screen printing basics to transfer your drawings to fabric, and in the last week sew together your very own pennant banner.
Enjoy an afternoon of family fun and dive into digital art using Procreate. Together with your child, we’ll explore techniques in sketching, drawing, and painting digitally. This session encourages creativity and experimentation through fun and engaging lessons. Note: An adult must participate in the workshop. The tuition fee covers one individual, and you must register for each adult and child attending.

Create your own molds for casting iron at GoggleWorks’ Iron Pour + Fire Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25! This class will explore several mold making techniques including bonded sand, lost foam, and lost wax ceramic shell. You’ll learn about the construction and operation of the iron cupola furnace and prepare your masterpiece for the big pour day. Bring your project ideas the first day of class!
A monoprint is a unique way to embellish your ceramics by transferring your own image onto the clay surface. The process involves painting layers of slips or underglazes on newsprint before placing the paper onto a wet slab of clay. Using this technique, you will create a set of four coasters. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Before you get back out into nature, connect with the process of foraging by making your own tools from the trees that you fun people and fungi like! Over two sessions, make your own mushroom brush – to clean mushrooms in the field, and a bespoke jar lid for the dried mushroom storage you have, or soon will. A materials fee is due at registration.
