A Christmas tree is woven into the front using dyed reed and finished with decorative buttons, making this project a delightful seasonal decoration or gift.
Learn a different embellishment for your woodturning each week, focusing on textures and processes including woodcarving, woodburning (pyrography), painting, bleaching, and sandblasting. This allows you to take your turned forms to new creative heights and gives you the ability and tool kit to start experimenting in more artistic ways. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create dreamy, experimental images using photographic paper, natural light, and found objects (please bring any objects with interesting shapes you’d like to print). We’ll cover the basics of the process, exposure techniques, and how to develop unique organic compositions full of unexpected textures and tones.

Acceptable stones: pectolite, calcite, fluorite, orthoclase, and quartz. No street rocks or precious gems. Instructor is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Flame-resistant clothing, long pants, and heavy closed-toe shoes are required. Class will be held in the Welding Studio, Building 4.
