A native of Reading, PA, Matt Brown spent over 25 years in the music industry, performing and teaching internationally. After deciding it was time for a change in 2017, his lifelong interest in woodworking grew serious enough that he decided to head back to school full time, enrolling in the cabinetmaking and wood technology program at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster, PA.
He holds degrees from Mansfield University and Michigan State University. He has also studied at Boston University and the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. Matt has over 30 years of teaching experience, having held positions at Florida Atlantic University, Lynn University, Michigan State University, Millersville University, Franklin and Marshall University, Montclair State University, and Kutztown University. Matt considers himself a life-long student, using every experience as a chance to learn.

Dan Zobel earned his associates degree in fine art from Bucks County Community College in 2009 under the tutelage of Mark Sfirri and subsequent Bachelor degree in 2012 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania under Alphonse Mattia. During the week, Dan puts his degree and experience to use as the woodshop operations manager at Edgewood Made in Philadelphia. Dan stays active in the wood art scene by participating in collaborative events, entering local shows, assisting in woodturning classes, and most recently becoming a committee member at the Museum for Art in Wood.
