Broaden your wheel throwing techniques and further develop your understanding of the ceramic process. Explore making taller forms, marbling clay, and using slips for surface decorations. Prerequisite: Intro to Wheel Throwing or equivalent experience.
Using templates and handbuilding techniques, create your own ceramic beer stein perfect for your favorite tall beverage. You will learn how to create slabs of clay by following a template and incorporate textures to the surfaces to make this interesting functional object! Once fired, pick up your stein at Thorn Alley Kitchen where the second half of the workshop will conclude with a demonstration and tasting with our bartender 1pm Sunday, Nov. 8.
