Learn the basics of watercolor painting with emphasis on letting the water and materials work for you. Other topics covered include mixing colors on and off the paper, how to paint a wash/glaze, wet on wet technique, dry brush technique, and the of use various materials and tools to make unique paintings. Along with the basics, some experimental techniques will be explored.
Shared art materials will be provided in the studio for most classes. Personal supplies can be purchased at our Art Supply Store, located on the first floor of GoggleWorks.
This beginner-friendly class is perfect for those new to embroidery or looking for a refresher. Well create a small fabric book filled with simple stitches such as running, back, blanket, and chain. Not only will it be cute, it will serve as a great reference for future projects!
Dive into the art of flameworking in this beginner-friendly beads 101 class! Using a torch and glass rods, you’ll learn how to safely shape, melt, and form your own vibrant glass beads. Wear natural fabrics (cotton not polyester) and tie back long hair while working in the studio.
In this session, learn how to bind and wrap fabric to create three distinct shibori patterns: ne-maki, tazuna, and te-kumo. We will use procion dyes in warm colors and you will leave with a collection of samples as well as one finished piece suitable for wearing or gifting. We will discuss how the samples can be used as the basis for other projects, or these pieces can be used in other shibori sessions for further experimentation. No previous experience needed! Be dressed to work with materials that can stain.
Create your own beautiful beaded bracelet using a variety of beading techniques. Together we’ll explore traditional stringing methods, including how to knot between beads, as well as wire-wrapping techniques to connect beads together for a custom design. Feel free to bring your own beads to incorporate your very own style into your finished bracelet. Perfect to wear for a night out on the town, or for a gift for a loved one!

Have you worked in glassblowing before? Refine your glassblowing skills by developing personal goals while working independently, or with a partner, on a self-directed project. Your instructor will help you problem solve and confront the challenges of intermediate/advanced glass work. Closed-toe shoes, hair tie are required. Please bring your own water bottle!
