Learn the fundamentals of welding in this workshop designed for homeschooled students ages 8-13. Discover how electricity melts wire and metal to join them permanently. Learn about the proper tools, protective gear, and workspace safety rules of the welding studio. Work directly with our instructor to safely master the art of welding. Then build and take home your own custom miniature metal sculpture!Ā Parents are welcome to attend.
Flame-resistant clothing, long pants, and heavy closed-toe shoes are required. Class will be held in theĀ Welding Studio, Building 4.
Sip some freshly steeped tea and awaken the magic of healing through tea blending and ceramics. In this workshop, you will create a slab built ceramic iced tea tumbler. Then learn how to blend your own tea to take home and enjoy. The healing tea blend will be created using GoggleWorks’ grown and dried herbs. Please wear clothes you donāt mind getting dirty.

Class will be held in the Ceramics Auxiliary Classroom 301, on the 3rd floor of GoggleWorks.Ā
Get the basics of sewing by learning about machine maintenance, seam ripping, fabric stabilizing, fabric types, and more as you build these foundational sewing skills. Studio sewing machines and equipment are provided while you bring your own fabric and thread. Walk away with an introductory understanding of how to create your own wearables and handmade objects!
Carve your own relief block, then use it to create stunning prints, with or without ink. Blind embossing uses only pressure to leave a raised, ink-free impression on paper, resulting in an elegant image. Whether you choose to add ink for bold contrast or let the embossed surface speak for itself, you’ll leave with a handcrafted block and beautiful prints that you can keep or share with friends.
Felting is simple, creative, and cathartic work. In this class, we will explore basic needle felting techniques, while crafting a small wool bowl perfect for tiny treasures and trinkets. Skills learned can easily be applied to future felting projects.

Learn the foundations of screen printing! You’ll start by drawing your idea, and then you’ll learn how to prepare a screen and pull ink across to bring your design to life. Bring a sketchbook with ideas to class so you can jump right into printing!
Learn an old and celebrated hobby of carving wooden duck decoys. In this multiweek class, learn how to use a bandsaw and belt sander for rough shaping, and then proceed to power carving to create the final sculpted form. Power carving is a more modern sculpting process where carving chisels have been replaced by handheld rotating grinders and cutters. The possibilities of shaping are endless and this class is a great introduction to the skill, along with making a charming duck to add some life to your home. A materials fee is due at registration. Closed-toe shoes required.
Explore the craft of the written word in this one-day workshop. Designed for beginners interested in starting a short story, we’ll provide a supportive, low-pressure setting for you to get your start. You’ll leave with a short piece or scene you’ve started, along with practical tips for continuing to finish the story on your own. You’re welcome to bring your own notebook and/or laptop.

You will explore metal preparation, enamel application, and kiln-firing techniques to transform simple metal shapes into colorful wearable art. Experiment with colors, pattern, and surface design to create earrings that reflect your style.
