Build confidence in your technical skills and the ability to look at art critically in this one-week intensive covering the fundamentals of drawing. Using a variety of materials, learn elements of line, value, shape, form, and texture. Experiment with gesture drawing, contour lines, negative space, shading, and the intricacies of light, one point and two point perspective applied to interior spaces, urban spaces, and still life drawing. Please bring a packed lunch or order ahead from our restaurant, Thorn Alley Kitchen.
Shared art materials will be provided in the studio for most classes. Personal supplies can be purchased at our Art Supply Store, located on the first floor of GoggleWorks.

You’ll learn about low-fire processes like raku and saggar firing, focusing on how atmosphere, materials, and surface treatments create unique, unpredictable results. Ideal for ceramicists looking to experiment and expand their surface decoration skills through hands-on experience and creative exploration.
Take an evening to make a handmade honey dipper on a wood lathe to decorate or use in your kitchen. The main project is the honey dipper, which is a traditional way to serve honey from a jar. Add a little bit of fun and life to the project by adding a carved bee to the honey dipper when you are done! A materials fee is due at registration. Closed-toe shoes are required.
Make a beautiful and functional market basket, perfect for trips to the farmers market or harvesting from the garden. You will weave with flat and flat oval reed and finish your basket with an oak D-handle and dyed overlays for a classic look.
Learn about glassblowing as you create an original beer tumbler. Once cooled, pick up your glass at Saucony Creek Franklin Station Brewpub where the second half of the workshop will conclude with a demonstration and tasting with their brew experts 5pm Saturday, June 20. Ages 21 and over only. Closed-toe shoes, hair tie are required.

This one-day lapidary class guides you through the process of creating stone earrings from start to finish. You will learn how to shape, grind, and polish stone using lapidary equipment, then set or assemble your stones into wearable earrings. Please note that this workshop will not include any metalwork, pre-made bezels will be used. Instructor is bilingual in English and Spanish. No prior lapidary experience is required. A materials fee is due at registration.
Create one-of-a-kind utensils to go along with your charcuterie board! Learn the basics in flameworking by creating beads for these utensils. Create a full serving set and join us for our Fused Glass Charcuterie Board class (June 12). Wear closed-toe shoes, natural fabrics (like cotton), and tie back long hair in the studio.

Create your own beautiful beaded bracelet using a variety of beading techniques. Together we’ll explore traditional stringing methods, including how to knot between beads, as well as wire-wrapping techniques to connect beads together for a custom design. Feel free to bring your own beads to incorporate your very own style into your finished bracelet. Perfect to wear for a night out on the town, or for a gift for a loved one! Explore the art of welding with found objects in this one-day workshop. Start the class with a visit to a local scrap yard where you’ll learn how to identify weldable metals for your project. After a lunch break, you’ll learn how to use a MIG welder and hand tools to create your own found object sculpture. Be prepared to walk in an industrial setting; gloves and boots/work shoes are highly advised.Prerequisite: Welding Basics or equivalent experience.
