Using the digital media lab, learn what it takes to make your own independent films from concept, animation, and even the importance of good composition and editing. Learn the software professional artists use to bring their cartoons to life, using digital software you can readily use on professional computers. This one-day lapidary class guides you through the process of creating stone earrings from start to finish. You will learn how to shape, grind, and polish stone using lapidary equipment, then set or assemble your stones into wearable earrings. Please note that this workshop will not include any metalwork, pre-made bezels will be used. Instructor is bilingual in English and Spanish. No prior lapidary experience is required.Ā

Create your own beautiful beaded bracelet using a variety of beading techniques. Together we’ll explore traditional stringing methods, including how to knot between beads, as well as wire-wrapping techniques to connect beads together for a custom design. Feel free to bring your own beads to incorporate your very own style into your finished bracelet. Perfect to wear for a night out on the town, or for a gift for a loved one! A materials fee is due at registration. Closed-toe shoes are required.
Explore the versatility of wire wrapping! Using copper, sculpting wire, and a wide variety of hand tools, you’ll learn how to create sculptures and pendants with wire wrapping techniques in our jewelry studio.
Explore the art of welding with found objects in this one-day workshop. Start the class with a visit to a local scrap yard where you’ll learn how to identify weldable metals for your project. After a lunch break, you’ll learn how to use a MIG welder and hand tools to create your own found object sculpture. Be prepared to walk in an industrial setting; gloves and boots/work shoes are highly advised. Prerequisite: Welding Basics or equivalent experience.

You will be introduced to the traditional copper foil method, along with lead came and patina techniques to give your piece a polished finish. Build confidence by learning essential stained glass skills, including cutting straight lines, safe tool use, grinding, foiling, soldering, and finishing.
