Join us for a creative night on the wheel and transform a ball of clay into a unique piece of pottery handcrafted by you! Learn the basics of throwing on the wheel while you craft your work, then choose a glaze from our ceramic studio’s selection.
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Turnaround time for ceramics can be a few weeks. Once the pieces are ready for pick up, you’ll receive an email from our Programs team letting you know.
In this one-day class, you will create a polished stone pendant using lapidary techniques. Instruction will cover stone shaping, grinding, sanding, and polishing, with an introduction to simple pendant finishing or setting methods. This class is ideal for beginners interested in working with stone and creating a finished wearable piece. Instructor is bilingual in English and Spanish. A materials fee is due at registration.
Get the basics of sewing by learning about machine maintenance, seam ripping, fabric stabilizing, fabric types and more as you learn these fundamental sewing skills. Walk away with an introductory understanding of how to sew your own wearables and handmade objects! No class on June 9th.

For experienced jewelry makers who want to advance their skills, share ideas, and develop new proficiencies, this intermediate level class will cover a range of various metalsmithing topics, with a focus on design, fabrication, and stone setting applications. Please bring your own fine metals and gemstones to class.
Experience the excitement of raku in this fiery Maker Date workshop! You’ll glaze two pre-made bud vases, watch a wheel throwing demo, and enjoy beer, wine, and lite fare as we fire your pieces in a raku kiln – pulling them out red-hot for a dramatic finish. This Japanese firing process allows the piece to cool quickly so you can take it home that night. Just bring a friend and get ready for a memorable night with clay, fire, and fun! Tuition fee covers one individual; you must register each person attending. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
