For experienced jewelry makers who want to advance their skills, share ideas, and develop new proficiencies, this intermediate level class will cover a range of various metalsmithing topics, with a focus on design, fabrication, and stone setting applications. Please bring your own fine metals and gemstones to class.
Take your fusing experience to the next level by working thicker pieces and dancing across the line of control and movement. Projects include pot melts, color bars, and on edge assembly with an emphasis on various cold working applications. Prerequisite: Intro to Fusing or equivalent experience.
Explore alternative firing and finishing techniques that go beyond traditional glazing. You’ll learn about low-fire processes like raku and saggar firing, focusing on how atmosphere, materials, and surface treatments create unique, unpredictable results. Ideal for ceramicists looking to experiment and expand their surface decoration skills through hands-on experience and creative exploration. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Explore the art of welding with found objects in this one-day workshop. Start the class with a visit to a local scrap yard where you’ll learn how to identify weldable metals for your project. After a lunch break, you’ll learn how to use a MIG welder and hand tools to create your own found object sculpture. Be prepared to walk in an industrial setting; gloves and boots/work shoes are highly advised. Prerequisite: Welding Basics or equivalent experience

Take your flameworking skills to the next level and dive deeper into coloring and sculpting techniques as you learn to work with hollow tubing and blowing. Prerequisite: Intro to Flameworking. Wear natural fabrics (cotton not polyester) and tie back long hair while working in the studio.
