You will create and sew together your very own pennant banner to welcome in spring! You’ll learn how to compose small drawings with flowers and text, some screen printing basics to transfer your drawings to fabric, and in the last week sew together your very own pennant banner.

Create your own molds for casting iron at GoggleWorks’ Iron Pour + Fire Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25! This class will explore several mold making techniques including bonded sand, lost foam, and lost wax ceramic shell. You’ll learn about the construction and operation of the iron cupola furnace and prepare your masterpiece for the big pour day. Bring your project ideas the first day of class!
A monoprint is a unique way to embellish your ceramics by transferring your own image onto the clay surface. The process involves painting layers of slips or underglazes on newsprint before placing the paper onto a wet slab of clay. Using this technique, you will create a set of four coasters. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Over two sessions, make your own mushroom brush – to clean mushrooms in the field, and a bespoke jar lid for the dried mushroom storage you have, or soon will. A materials fee is due at registration. Capture everyday life through an analog lens. This course covers the basics of street photography, composition, light, timing, and storytelling, while showing the unique charm of shooting on film. You will be provided with a 35mm film camera and one roll of black & white film to get started. Instructor is bilingual in English and Spanish.
