Using beginner level skills, learn how to handbuild coils and slabs of clay and transform them into a woven basket. In the creative clay process, you will learn how to use slump molds to shape your piece into a unique basket for your table or kitchen. Instructor is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Level up your wheel throwing skills in this 6-week class, focusing on building large forms, compound techniques, and independent projects. You’ll also learn lidded forms, handle making, and glaze application. This class includes the opportunity to fire your work in a Cone 10 Reduction Firing. Prerequisite: Intro to Wheel Throwing or equivalent experience.

Discover the basics of utilizing your digital camera, with an emphasis on manual shooting. Using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, our instructor will introduce you to image composition and basic lighting and post-production techniques. Learn how to talk about photography, capture well-crafted images, and leave with a digital portfolio of photos to show what you learned along the way. Please bring your own DSLR digital camera and flash drive to class. Instructor is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Make your own wind chime for your home or garden to enjoy all year! This project serves as a great introduction to cutting and shaping glass with a little fishy flare! Closed-toe shoes are required.

Using high-quality ingredients, we’ll cover the basics of different waxes, creating unique scents, and adding color, texture and decorative elements. At the end, you’ll take home your custom-made candle, along with new skills to continue crafting at home, plus enjoy games, snacks, and a relaxing atmosphere during the curing time! Join us in GoggleWorks’ Gardens at Lauer’s Park for a hands-on shibori dyeing class. Learn about dyeing with indigo and be able to witness the transformation of white fabric into shades of deep blue. You will have the opportunity to learn about both stitching and folding techniques to create pattern on cloth. Please wear clothes and shoes that can get stained; open-toe shoes might result in blue toes! You will have the choice of working in the sun or the shade.
Develop a deeper appreciation for this centuries-old binding technique with hands-on learning as you assemble, fold, and stitch your own handmade books with traditional Japanese decorative binding patterns. Great for beginners and experienced bookmakers.
