Together we’ll explore traditional stringing methods, including how to knot between beads, as well as wire-wrapping techniques to connect beads together for a custom design. Make a beautiful piece of jewelry from start to finish. The first class will explore lapidary: cutting, forming, and polishing raw rock into a shape of your choosing. The second class will cover silversmithing and mounting that stone in a silver frame, essential for adding it to a ring or necklace. This is a truly unique and diverse experience!
Explore the art of welding with found objects in this one-day workshop. Start the class with a visit to a local scrap yard where you’ll learn how to identify weldable metals for your project. After a lunch break, you’ll learn how to use a MIG welder and hand tools to create your own found object sculpture. Be prepared to walk in an industrial setting; gloves and boots/work shoes are highly advised. Prerequisite: Welding Basics or equivalent experience
