After School Arts Program (ASAP)

ASAP Fall September 29th – November 20th

The After School Arts Program (ASAP) offers students, ages 7-17, residing in the Reading School District and beyond, the opportunity to explore, experiment, and develop their creativity through hands-on, collaborative projects at No Cost to their families. Taught by professional artists and educators, ASAP provides students with all of the knowledge and excitement of an after-school arts program wherever it’s most convenient to them. All classes are from 4-5:30pm every term.

Fall 2025 ASAP applications will be available on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 9am and will close on Monday, September 8th at 9pm. 

If you missed the applications, no worries we have plenty of great programs for your kids all year round.

El Programa Extraescolar de Artes (ASAP) ofrece a los estudiantes, de 7-17 años, que residen en el Distrito Escolar de Reading y más allá, la oportunidad de explorar, experimentar y desarrollar su creatividad a través de proyectos prácticos y de colaboración sin costo alguno para sus familias. Impartido por artistas y educadores profesionales, ASAP proporciona a los estudiantes todo el conocimiento y la emoción de un programa de artes después de la escuela donde sea más conveniente para ellos. Todas las clases son de 4-5:30pm cada trimestre.

Las solicitudes ASAP para el otoño de 2025 estarán disponibles el Lunes 28 de Julio de 2025 a las 9am y se cerrará el Lunes 8 de Septiembre a las 9pm.

Si te perdiste las solicitudes, no te preocupes, tenemos un montón de grandes programas para sus hijos durante todo el año.

Ages 7-10

Monday | Lunes 

Mixed Fibers with Ms. Sara

Students will create a collection of projects, while exploring fiber techniques including embroidery, weaving, wet felting and applique.

Watercolor with Ms. Juliana (Bilingual)

Students will get the opportunity to explore the wonderful world of watercolors; blending, texture, feathering, layering and more.

Tuesday | Martes

Adaptive Art with Ms. Cat & Ms. Cindy

(Bilingual) [for children with learning disabilities | para niños con dificultades de aprendizaje]

Students will learn in a safe and nurturing environment about hot to create wonderful art projects.

Creation Station with Mr. Zoungy

Kids work at their own art station with open-ended prompts and plenty of room for self-motivated creativity.

Wednesday | Miércoles

Culinary Creation with Ms. Tiana

Students will learn about herbs, fruits, veggies, spices, and how to create fun healthy snacks and small meals and eat or take home their creations.

Thursday | Jueves

Mixed Media with Ms. Stella

Students will learn how to work with collage, drawing, painting, clay work and much more.

Ages 10 – 13

Monday | Lunes 

Macrame Design with Ms. Reina

(Bilingual)

Students will learn to apply four different techniques: nudo alondra, nudo simple, nudo cuadrado y nudo spiral, using recycled materials and sustainable materials.

Tuesday | Martes 

Comic Illustration with Mr. Chris

Students will learn about the art of cartooning and making funny drawings and walk away making their own comic strips.

Play with Clay with Mr. Zoungy

A variety of small and medium-sized handbuilding projects using real ceramic clay and glazes.

Woodworking Basics with Ms. Paola

(Bilingual)

Students will learn how to design cut, shape and finish work on the scroll saw and lathe.

3D Printing & Laser Design with Mr. Jim

Students will learn about 3d printing, designing and creating T-shirt design, designing and creating laser engraved project.

Tuesday | Martes

Mixed Fibers with Ms. Sara

Students will create a collection of self-directed projects, while exploring fiber techniques including embroidery, weaving, wet and needle felting as well as applique.

Dungeons & Dragons with Geri

Students will be guided through character creation and go on small adventures to flex their creativity.

Thursday | Jueves

Procreate Dreams: Digital Animation with Mr. Zoungy

Learn the basics of hand-drawn 2D animation on Procreate Dreams with room to grow and experiment.
