Celebrating Puerto Rican Culture, Community & Tradition
El Boricuazo is a vibrant Puerto Rican cultural celebration bringing the heart, spirit, and
traditions of Puerto Rico to Reading, Pennsylvania, during Hispanic Heritage Month.
On Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Palo Magazine will celebrate
the 2nd Annual El Boricuazoāand this year, we are excited to welcome the community to
GoggleWorks Center for the Arts for the very first time. Guests will be able to enjoy
GoggleWorksā beautiful outdoor space, the Thorn Alley Stage, and an incredible lineup of
Puerto Rican food vendors, entertainment, and cultural experiences.
El Boricuazo was created to celebrate our Puerto Rican heritage and bring our community
together. Rosa Julia Parra, founder of Palo Magazine, believes that our Puerto Rican culture
and traditions are at risk of being lost in Berks County. That belief is at the heart of El
Boricuazo: creating a space where our culture can be celebrated, shared, and passed on to
the next generation.
This special day will be filled with Puerto Rican music, authentic food, traditions,
entertainment, dominoes, local vendors, family activities, and plenty of Boricua pride! From
the rhythms of Puerto Rican music to the excitement around the domino tables, El
Boricuazo celebrates the traditions that connect generations while highlighting the culture,
creativity, businesses, and talent within our local Puerto Rican and Latino community.
Whether you were born in Puerto Rico, grew up in a Puerto Rican family, have Puerto Rican
roots, or simply love and appreciate our culture, El Boricuazo welcomes you.
