October is a huge month for GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. We are hosting the 7th annual Arts Festival Reading on October 6-7! Arts Fest is an event that brings together local artists and vendors to showcase their work, but also a place to make memories with your family.

Arts Festival Reading is a great place to meet local artists and buy handcrafted items — whether for yourself, your home, or you’re checking off your holiday gift list. In addition to our Studio Artists, artists from around the region will be represented, selling ceramics, glass, jewelry, apparel, mixed media, photography, and fine art.

This year, GoggleWorks partnered with Yocum Institute for Arts Education to provide Kids Space —  Children ages 5-12 can be dropped off for timed workshops while their parents/guardians shop! The Kidspace workshops will include: Kusama-inspired Painted Pumpkins and Pip & Pop in a box. It is $5 per child, advanced registration required here.

Arts Festival Reading is about making! Explore our campus and communal studios for a series of live demonstrations including glassblowing, woodturning, flameworking, virtual reality, 3D printing, and ceramics. If you want to get your hands dirty and create your own art, you can also sign up for workshops in ceramics, fused glass, or screen printing. On Saturday, there will be a poetry jam happening and performances will be presented by Reading Natives. This two-day event also features live music and performances on the Sly Fox Stage, locally-sourced food and craft beverages by Belly: Kitchen & Drinkery, and much more. This year is much more interactive with making sure that everyone is able to participate and enjoy this jam-packed weekend.

GoggleWorks Center for the Arts is located on 201 Washington Street, Reading, PA 19601. Arts Fest will be on Saturday, October 6 & Sunday, October 7 from 10am – 5pm on both days. Make sure to check out the rest of the details and featured artists on our Arts Festival Reading page on our website.
