Lauren Krukowski

Abstracting imagery and creating patterns from her lived experiences, Lauren Krukowski mirrors the processes and aesthetics of textile traditions in print, handmade paper, and quilts.
Her work undergoes various iterations as it is layered, cut, and sewn, resulting in combinations of color, texture, and pattern influenced by textiles, quilting, and properties of light.

Lauren earned an MFA in printmaking and papermaking from the University of Iowa in 2024 and a BFA in painting and drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010. Previous awards and artist residencies have supported her work and research, including the West Bay View Foundation Fellowship at Dieu Donné (2024-25); Time and Space Residency at Peninsula School of Art (2025); Stanley Award for International Research Fellowship (2022), Print Workshop Residency at David Krut Workshop (2022), Guttenberg Arts’ Space and Time Artist Residency (2020), and the Jerome Foundation Emerging Artist Fellowship Residency at Anderson Center (2016). Recent exhibitions include “Tacit Knowledge” at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts and “And, And, And” at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics’ Project Art Gallery.

While at GoggleWorks, Lauren is working on large-scale printed and dyed quilts.
