Every great summer show starts with the people in the room.
This year feels especially exciting because for the very first time, we’re offering Summer Theatre Camp at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts and we cannot wait to see these young performers take the stage. Registration is officially open, and we’re ready to welcome a brand new cast of campers into the spotlight.
Our camp isn’t just about learning lines or hitting your mark. It’s about finding your voice, trying something new, laughing through rehearsal games, and realizing you’re braver than you thought. As campers dive into the world of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Jr., they’ll be guided by a creative team that truly loves the stage and the young performers stepping onto it.
This summer’s staff brings decades of experience, from Broadway credits to community theatre right here in Berks County. More importantly, they bring heart, patience, and a genuine excitement for helping kids grow in confidence and creativity.
Before we raise the curtain on our very first season, take a moment to meet the talented artists who will be directing, teaching, choreographing, and cheering your campers on every step of the way.

Director, Playwright, Producer
After twenty-five years of dedicated service as Artistic Director of Genesius Theatre, he recently stepped down to pursue new creative opportunities. During his tenure, he directed over 70 productions and produced more than 150, leaving a lasting imprint on the theater community.
A graduate of Reading High School in 1976, he moved to New York City and quickly launched his professional career as a staff assistant for Broadway producer Alexander H. Cohen, assisting on three Broadway productions and the 1977 Tony Awards. He has also held management and marketing positions at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Goodspeed Musicals, The Hudson Guild Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, The Watery Star Theatre, and the Fulton Theatre.
He co-produced Williamstown’s annual New York City Cabaret Benefits at Studio 54 and The Palladium, and assisted the late Carol Hall’s Off-Broadway musical To Whom It May Concern. From 1980 to 1983, he served as Executive Director of the Penn Square Commission, creating signature events for Reading’s central business district.
As a playwright, his work Just Another Illegitimate Child of John Lennon was presented at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2003. Alongside musical collaborator Michael O’Flaherty, he co-wrote the book for Genesius – A New Musical, performed at the 2006 Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals and later staged as an Actors’ Equity Showcase in New York City. He and O’Flaherty also co-created A Connecticut Christmas Carol, which enjoyed three sold-out holiday seasons at Goodspeed Musicals, directed by Hunter Foster and starring Robert Cuccioli. In 2019, he reimagined the show for Redhouse Performing Arts Center as A Syracuse Christmas Carol, starring Fred Grandy and again directed by Hunter Foster.
His television pilot script, Great White Way, won awards at The Big Apple Screenplay Contest, the New York International Film Festival, and the Los Angeles International Film Festival.
Currently, he serves as Production Manager for the Reading Symphony and is a proud member of IATSE Local 97, working as crew chief for shows and concerts at the Santander Arena and the Performing Arts Center. He is thrilled to collaborate with GoggleWorks on this exciting new theatrical venture.

Music Director
Kevin began his love affair with musical theater at a very early age. His father, Robert J. Cooper, was a Broadway aficionado, and this constant exposure to the genre steered Kevin into a lifelong relationship with the stage. Kevin has been involved with innumerable productions in various venues and helps lead the Senior Choir, and plays keyboard in the Worship Team at Park Road Presbyterian Church. He sends out love and gratitude to his wife Ellen and the rest of his supportive and steadfast family. Kevin fervently desires continuation and expansion of the lively arts in Berks and beyond.

Choreographer
Jericho brings 30 years of dance education and performance experience to the GoggleWorks Theater Camp creative team. Jericho has worked in every aspect of the dance world from performance to teaching, dance industry modeling, competition judging, ballet adjudication, choreography, and more. She has choreographed dozens of community theater productions, some notable favorites including American Idiot, Chicago, In the Heights, and Bright Star. As both a former dance studio owner and the Director of Dance at Genesius theater, Jericho has worked extensively with young dancers and actors over the years in classes, Junior shows, and summer camps.
