October is LGBT History Month and GoggleWorks Center for the Arts is partnering with the LGBT Center of Greater Reading. This month celebrates the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender icons by reclaiming history, celebrating the present, and creating a future for the LGBTQ+ Community. The LGBTQ+ Center is in Reading, PA is established to create, administer and provide services, advocacy, and support to the Greater Reading community, including allies, with the goal that all may live a life of fulfillment, inclusions, and celebration. This October grab your loved ones and join us at the GoggleWorks for a creative night out and come to the popular Maker Dates! During our Maker Dates you will enjoy beer, wine, and light fare supplied by Belly Kitchen & Drinkery. This month we have workshops in Hot Glass, Warm Glass, and ceramics.
Executive Director Michelle Dech says that “The LGBTQ+ Center of Greater Reading is excited to partner with GoggleWorks on this event. We hope this opportunity will provide insight and knowledge in regard to the services and programs we have to offer at the Center. We serve an evolving and ever-changing underserved community that will reap and appreciate the benefits of this extraordinary experience. We’d like to thank all of those who attend our Maker Dates for their support and we cannot thank the GoggleWorks enough for making this possible.”
Through this partnership with the LGBTQ+ Center, a portion of all October Maker Date registration proceeds will go to help the LGBT Center serve the Greater Reading community. Please join us and make a difference!
