I receive enormous satisfaction from making photographs-of people, of landscapes, and as essays.
Through 50 years (1967-2017) I have been driven by the desire to make fine photographs and I have been prolific in the pursuit of excellence to satisfy newspapers, magazines, non-profits and corporate clients. I was at the pinnacle of photojournalism when I covered Pope John Paul II for Camera Press, London. I leaped with satisfaction when my pictures of the Imelda Marcos were published in the NY Times Magazine story.
I grew up exploring Pennsylvania woods. I lived near Yellow Breeches Creek in northern York Co., PA. Catching crayfish and riding bike on the rural roads were the freedom of my childhood. Today, when Iām in the woods, I feel that I have come home. I love making photographs in the wildsāeven though I once lost my stepladder in dense undergrowth.
