2021 GoggleWorks Student Fellows Exhibition

August 6–29, 2021

The Student Ambassador Fellowship is offered to six area high school students based on their artistic merit and interest in pursuing higher education and/or professional careers in the arts. Along with receiving access to a communal studio space and teaching studios at GoggleWorks, each Fellow has been matched with a Mentor, chosen from among the professional artists working within the GoggleWorks studios. The program’s primary goal is to build strong, meaningful relationships between these fellows and mentors.

With mentor guidance, each fellow works to develop their artistic skills and a working knowledge of processes and materials within the medium of their choice, while creating a culminating project to be displayed in the GoggleWorks galleries. Mentor time, a total of 20 hours over the course of the program, is scheduled directly between the Mentor and the Fellow. These hours could consist of actual studio instruction, specific project guidance, material research and development, etc.

Additionally, Fellows have the opportunity to take one public course or workshop at no cost, professional development workshops, and participate in an off site field trip.

We are excited to display the works of out 2021 Fellows in the Schmidt Gallery. please join us for an artists reception on Friday, August 13, from 6 to 8 PM!
