Salary: $42,500 per year, plus benefits
Overview
The Community Coordinator plays a central role in building trusted relationships between GoggleWorks and the surrounding neighborhood. This position sits at the intersection of resident-led community development and participatory art engagement, ensuring that local voices help shape programs, partnerships, and public spaces across the GoggleWorks campus and the 6th Ward.
Reporting directly to the Engagement Manager, the Community Coordinator represents GoggleWorks in community settings, helps carry out priorities from the resident-co-designed Neighborhood Plan, and leads family-centered outreach and interactive art experiences both on campus and throughout the neighborhood.

Key Responsibilities
Neighborhood Engagement and Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong relationships with neighborhood residents, families, and community leaders
- Serve as an accessible point of contact for neighbors seeking connection to GoggleWorks programs or resources
- Participate in community meetings, task forces, and planning sessions to represent GoggleWorks and listen to resident priorities
- Support implementation of goals and action items from the Neighborhood Plan
- Represent GoggleWorks on the Wyomissing Foundation Neighborhood Task Force in the 6th Ward
Community Outreach and Family Engagement
- Design and lead mobile outreach programs, interactive art activities, tabling events, and pop-up experiences in neighborhood spaces
- Support development of interactive environments on the GoggleWorks campus that invite participation from new and returning audiences
- Adapt activities for diverse ages, cultures, and language needs
- Gather participant feedback to inform continuous improvement
Partnership Development
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain partnerships with schools, nonprofits, civic groups, faith-based organizations, and cultural institutions
- Explore collaborative programs that advance shared goals in arts access, youth engagement, family enrichment, and neighborhood vitality
- Maintain relationships with current partners and seek new opportunities for joint programming
Program Planning and Special Projects
- Co-plan and coordinate neighborhood activities, workshops, festivals, and campus activation events
- Research best practices in community arts engagement and neighborhood development
- Take on special projects as assigned, including planning, coordination, and execution
Communications and Documentation
- Communicate clearly with residents, partners, and internal teams
- Assist with outreach materials, flyers, email communications, and basic social media updates
- Track engagement activity and participation data in CRM or database systems
- Contribute to reporting and storytelling that demonstrates community impact
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, education, community development, arts administration, or a related field or two or more years of relevant work experience in community engagement, outreach, or public programming
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on building authentic relationships
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse communities and cultural backgrounds
- Strong time and task management skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
- Comfort learning CRM and database systems
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
- Reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish language proficiency
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, arts education, or museum/public programming
- Experience facilitating family-centered or youth-focused activities
- Background or interest in visual, performing, or participatory arts
