It’s the little things that matter the most: kisses, “likes”, honeybees and seeds. Our ephemeral lives are a layering of moments filled with the gestures and touches we use to connect to one another and find meaning.

Against the darkening background of this summer’s intense heat, the election, oil pipelines and the relentless destruction of our planet, I find space to breathe spending an evening with friends, constructing new harmonies to old songs and describing the contours of a zucchini blossom or a stalk of radish seeds, with a pencil.
