Jim Farnsworth is a native of Berks County, Pennsylvania but has moved his home and workshop to a beautiful 1750 stone farmhouse and barn in nearby Chester County, PA where his family has started a small hobby farm. For five years, Jim lived, studied, and carved in the beautiful Taunus Mountains of Central Germany. He also studied as an Apprentice Austrian Woodcarver at the Geisler-Moroder Schnitzshule in Elbigenalp, Austria. When he returned to the United States, Jim had an opportunity to study and carve in the Adirondack Mountains of Northeastern New York. His love for the mountains and Pennsylvania-German heritage shows through in his style of Pennsylvania-German folk, Christian, and traditional Tyrolean carvings.
