Abby Ryder is a printmaker and illustrator from Reading, Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh’s studio arts program in 2013 and had been a GoggleWorks studio artist since March of 2016. Abby is interested in the ways smartphone photography has influenced how we hold ourselves when we know we are being photographed. Previous work has looked, in particular, into the ways women hold themselves for informal snapshots. Her current work explores intentional and unintentional phone camera self-portraiture through line drawing, linocut, and screenprint. Abby is also a compulsive doodler who loves looking at and creating illustrations.
