The Albert and Eunice Boscov Theatre is thrilled to welcome back our friends from Reading Theater Project for our second annual Play Reading Series, hosted at GoggleWorks

This year the theme is SHADOWS FROM THE PAST, and we’re honored to have the following plays be featured on our stage:

Thursday, June 15 – THEY SAY: A LOVE STORY by Andrea Kennedy Hart
In 1922, Philly tough guy and small-town thief Whistlin’ Jack McConnell was revealed to be a woman. How did a young woman get away with dressing as a lad for 16 years? How did Whistlin’ Jack McConnell fool so many people? In this action-packed one-person performance, Jack’s former fiancee Lettie Harrison sets the record straight – recounting everything from Jack’s early days to their first meeting to the day everything fell apart. Based on a true story, THEY SAY: A LOVE STORY is a sometimes humorous, often poignant tale of love, betrayal, and the encounters that revolutionize our hearts.

All performances are at 7pm and will be followed by a discussion with the playwright.
