SCHOOL LUNCH is a visual essay of contemporary student life, created by on-site observational drawing, in real educational settings. Cross-cultural issues and their emotional attitudes are explored in the shared experience of school lunch. These paintings present images concerning the nature of relationships.
“Each individual in my paintings is an actual person, drawn in the moment. These quick ten minute, graphite/pastel drawings, are accompanied by conversation. Our discussions give me greater insight and perspective of the individual and their experiences.” – Lisa DeLoria Weinblatt
SCHOOL LUNCH underlines perceptions which affirm cultural and gender identity, brings together ideas espousing contemporary concerns and encourages a belief in the quality of human spirit.
