We break ground 9/5! Important changes to accessing the GoggleWorks campus

We are thrilled to announce that we are breaking ground on Phase 1 of the GoggleWorks Public Art Park on September 5th! This exciting development will bring new energy and opportunities to downtown Reading, creating a vibrant space for creativity, community, and cultural engagement.

Click here for more information about the Art Park, the community process we are using for planning, and our collective vision.

During the construction period, there will be changes to campus access for residents and visitors. Here’s what you need to know:

New Main Entrance

The doors along Washington St. will serve as the new “main entrance” throughout construction. The regular main gate will be closed, with few exceptions. Additionally, there is an entrance just east of the primary door along Washington with grade-level access to accommodate those with mobility needs or that need to load or unload at grade.

Stay Informed

Access routes and details may change during construction. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the top of our homepage at www.GoggleWorks.org. On site signage will help pedestrians navigate our campus.

On site Studio Artists and Resident Organizations

Tenants accessing the building outside of regular hours of operations will have regular access to the door just east of the “main door” on Washington St., clearly marked for your convenience. More information will be sent separately and will be updated and communicated as things evolve.

Event Renters

Special Event and Wedding Hosts will also receive detailed instructions prior to the date of rental for smoother access and information about any changes to our normal operation. These guidelines will enhance the event experience and facilitate seamless operations.

Ceramics, Hot Glass, and Heavy Metals Studios

Access to these studios will be more implicated and will change as construction progresses. Special details will be sent to students and renters as details change. Follow signs on campus the day of your arrival for the most up-to-date information.

Parking Information

Parking arrangements have been tailored to ensure a smooth experience for everyone visiting GoggleWorks during construction. Here’s how parking will work:

Student Drop-off
Designated spots for student drop-off will be available along 2nd Street in the GoggleWorks parking lot.

Handicapped Parking
A number of handicapped parking spaces will be reserved in the GoggleWorks parking lot.

Special Accommodations
Visitors with mobility concerns will receive free parking in the Albert Boscov Parking Garage. Request validated parking from the GoggleWorks staff at the New Store.

We’re truly excited about this transformative journey and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to bring this vision to life. The GoggleWorks Public Arts Park will soon be a space where creativity flourishes, connections thrive, and the community gathers to celebrate the arts.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we embark on this exciting endeavor!
