Woodworking Open Studio allows you to access GoggleWorks’ Woodshop open studio hours during each term. Limited to currently enrolled students in multiweek classes, Open Studio students may access to the woodshop in order to practice what they are learning in class and refine their skills. Open Studio is designed for students with a basic knowledge of woodworking and overseen by a monitor, instead of instructor, this “class” is a great opportunity to work at your own pace and continue your exploration in wood. OpenĀ StudioĀ is NOT for long-term projects, businesses, millwork, contracted jobs, etc.
*If not already GoggleWorks studio certified, a one-time safety training fee is required at time of registration. Safety trainings are scheduled by appointment in last two weeks of each month. New shop users should contact Matt Brown at mbrown@goggleworks.org, to schedule a training. Training must be completed before users can work in the shop. Anyone enrolling in Open StudioĀ must complete and pass the general shop safety training and tests and/or the woodturningĀ studioĀ safety training prior to enrollment.
Open Studio Hours are posted below. Open Studio students are responsible for checking the calendar. The calendar will be updated regularly.
Note: Expert instruction is not complimentary withĀ OpenĀ StudioĀ enrollment. The woodĀ studioĀ manager/monitor is available to answer safety questions, but guidance on woodworking techniques, project planning, etc. is considered private instruction and is available for a fee. To book private instruction, contact Matt Brown at mbrown@goggleworks.org.
